Telehealth equipment

We use an American Well 750 Telemedicine Cart, equipped with two viewing monitors, at participating Shriners Hospitals for Children telehealth locations; and one monitor at the affiliate locations, a Cisco SX 20 codec and a Horus Scope that comes with a general viewing scope.

The American Well cart uses a Precision HD camera with a resolution of 1920 by 1080 at 60 fps and a zoom of 8x. It has a pan range around 90 degrees and a tilt range of -25 degrees to + 15 degrees. The camera has auto focus and auto white balance.

A stethoscope, which connects via Bluetooth, can be used. These stethoscopes amplify sound when providers need help listening to a heart, lung or other body sounds.

The Horus Scope is a high resolution (1080p) camera. The Horus Scope allows us to capture still images and videos. We can then share these images in real time with the Shriners Hospitals for Children physician through the American Well Telemedicine Cart, or we can transfer the images to a PC.

All of our carts come with a general viewing scope that attaches to the Horus Scope, and additional scopes are available on request for:

  • Ear nose and throat
  • Dermatology
  • Opthalmology
  • Audiology
  • Cleft lip and palate
