Cary H. Mielke, M.D.

Cary H. Mielke, M.D., is the chief of staff for Shriners Hospitals for Children — Shreveport. He joins our medical team having previously served as chief of staff for our sister hospital in Twin Cities. Dr. Mielke graduated summa cum laude from Macalester College and earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, followed by a fellowship in pediatric orthopaedic surgery at the University of Utah and Shriners Hospitals for Children — Salt Lake City.

Areas of special interest to Dr. Mielke include hip dysplasia, orthopaedic trauma, foot reconstruction and angular deformities of the lower extremity.

Dr. Mielke is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a member of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America (POSNA), American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine (AACPDM), and American Orthopaedic Association (AOA).
