Fast Track Video Visits now available for new and existing appointments
Virtual visits decrease risk of travel during sheltering, adds new option for care

Access to care at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Shreveport just got even easier! To ensure continuity of care and patient safety during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Shreveport Shriners Hospital has launched its Fast Track Video Visits (FTVV) program. The program is dedicated to providing specialized care to new and established patients from the comfort of their own homes, and gives patients the ability to see their doctors!
Fast Track Video Visits help decrease potential risk of exposure and provide a convenient alternative for families traveling long distances to visit their doctor. Patients and their parents can connect with their doctors via video software to conduct initial visits, maintain follow-up appointments and discuss treatment plans.
The Fast Track program will not replace all in-person visits, as there will continue to be circumstances that require a physical visit. Our scheduling staff, in consultation with our medical team, will evaluate if a FTVV is appropriate for each child. If a patient is deemed eligible for a FTVV, our team will contact the family to discuss establishing an appointment.
What does the process for a FTVV look like?
- Patient is determined eligible for FTVV by Shreveport Shriners Hospital medical staff
- Provider availability is determined and appointment is scheduled with family
- Scheduling staff will email the family a link to use during the appointment
- Consent documentation is obtained via DocuSign
What are the technical needs for a FTVV appointment?
- Computer, tablet or phone with:
- Internet access
- Email
- Camera
- Microphone
- Skype app (link emailed by Shreveport team will also work without app)
- Completed consent forms (will be sent via email through DocuSign)
