Requesting an appointment

To request an appointment at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Spokane, please call us toll-free at 888-895-5951 to speak with our intake coordinator or email your request. You may also request a referral from your child's physician.

If you are a returning/established patient with a question about your appointment or, to make a follow-up appointment, please email our scheduling manager.

Treatment eligibility

Children up to age 18 are eligible for treatment at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Spokane if, in the opinion of our physicians, there is a reasonable possibility the child can benefit from the specialized services we provide.

All care and services are provided regardless of the families' ability to pay.

First-time patients

Our intake coordinator will partner with you to gather the necessary information to evaluate whether your child can benefit from care at the Spokane Shriners Hospital.

Please bring with you:

  • Insurance card
  • Documentation of guardianship if applicable
  • Primary care physician’s or clinic’s name and address
  • Referring physician’s name and address
  • Medication and dosages list (including over-the-counter and herbal) your child is currently taking
  • Test results, X-rays or any other records completed after your medical records were sent
  • A completed History of Present Illness form, which you will receive with your patient welcome packet
  • A pair of athletic or zipper-free shorts for your child to wear during examination and/or X-rays. For patients with long hair, please also bring a hair tie.
  • Any orthotic or prosthetic devices your child currently uses

Surgery patients

Please notify your care manager at the number below, within two weeks of the surgery admission date (or as soon as possible), if your child experiences symptoms of infectious illness, including fever, cough, rash, vomiting, diarrhea or any suspected/known exposure to chicken pox, measles or any other contagious disease/condition.

Rehabilitation therapy patients

If you are an established patient and need to set up an appointment for rehabilitation therapy or have questions about an upcoming appointment, call our rehabilitation therapy scheduler at 509-623-0460.


Please plan to arrive at the time designated on your admission notice. During this visit you will meet with the admission nurse who will review your child’s health history. Although the health history review may seem repetitive, your answers help us provide your child with the best care possible.

Outpatient clinic

Outpatient procedures, initial visit exams and follow-up visits are available at our outpatient clinic. The clinic is staffed by orthopaedic surgeons, pediatricians and physician assistants who are all experienced in working specifically with kids. They are supported by our trained registered nurses, medical assistants and staff from our recreation therapy/child life department, to make your child’s visit a positive experience.
