The main number for Shriners Hospitals for Children — Spokane is 509-455-7844. There is a telephone available for local calls and calling card capability in every patient room. Charges for all calls made by patients/parents are the responsibility of the patient/parent. For the comfort of the other patients, we request that all calls be made before 8 p.m. An exception may be made for calls outside the United States, due to time zone differences. Families may use personal cell phones in patient rooms.

Mail received after a patient is discharged will be forwarded to the home address of the patient.


There is a computer with Internet access in the teen lounge, which is located in the recreation room on the fourth floor. Access is available during supervised recreation hours. Please contact recreation therapy for assistance. Patients and families are welcome to connect to our local, free hospital Wi-Fi during their stay.


An education plan can be available for children who may miss at least four weeks of school during the school year. Please ask your child's regular teacher to send the lesson plan for the approximate time of the hospital stay and bring the necessary books and supplies to the hospital with you.

Feel free to discuss any academic concerns you have regarding your child with your care manager, the nursing staff or a member of the recreation therapy department.
