The health and safety of our patients, families and staff is our highest priority. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is requiring hospitals to meet established criteria as part of the state’s reopening plan. Effective March 22, 2021, Massachusetts moved into phase four of its reopening plan in accordance with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s guidance plan for reopening.

If your child has an upcoming appointment, please contact your local Shriners Hospitals for Children location.

Appointments and admissions

All visitors entering the hospital must stop at the security desk, identify themselves, and state the purpose of their visit. Each visitor will be checked-in using the FAST PASS registration program, requiring all visitors 16 and older to present a photo ID (driver’s license or passport), which will be scanned into our system. This security procedure is for the safety and comfort of all our patients, staff, families and visitors.

Surgery pre-admission visit

A pre-admission visit will be scheduled within 30 days of scheduled surgery. If for some reason you find it necessary to cancel this admission, please contact outpatient registration at 413-787-2088 as soon as possible.

Please plan to arrive at the time designated on your admission notice. During this visit you will meet with the admission nurse who will review your child’s health history. Although the health history review may seem repetitive, your answers help us provide your child with the best care possible.
