Gregory T. Banever, M.D.

Gregory T. Banever, M.D., is a consulting pediatric surgeon at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Springfield, and is affiliated with Baystate Pediatric Surgery. Dr. Banever received his undergraduate degree in chemistry from Yale University, a master’s degree in medical science from Boston University School of Medicine and earned his medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. Dr. Banever was both a resident and chief resident in general surgery at Baystate Medical Center, where he was also a clinical and research fellow in pediatric and general surgery. Dr. Banever completed two other fellowships, one at the Children’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado, as a pediatric surgery fellow, and another at the Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, as a pediatric surgery critical care fellow.

Dr. Banever is a member of the American Medical Association, the Candidate Group of the American College of Surgeons, the International Pediatric Endosurgery Group and the Massachusetts Medical Society.
