John DeWeese, M.D.

John D. DeWeese, M.D., is the staff surgeon for Shriners Hospitals for Children — Springfield. He earned his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. Dr. DeWeese was a resident in surgery at Strong Memorial Hospital of the University of Rochester, a class D surgeon in general surgery in the USAF, Cannon Air Force Base, and a resident in orthopaedic surgery at Boston University. He completed his fellowships in constructive surgery of the hip at the New England Hospital in Boston and in hand surgery at Boston University.

Areas of special interest to Dr. DeWeese include limb length inequality, limb lengthening, long bone deformity correction, and bone infection.

Dr. DeWeese is a member of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Medical Society, and Massachusetts Medical Society.
