Effective March 22, 2021, Massachusetts moved into phase four of its reopening plan in accordance with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s guidance plan for reopening.

Support services

At Shriners Hospitals for Children — Springfield, care is delivered in a family-centered environment, which means the patient and the family are the focus. In addition to your medical care, we have the following support services and accommodations:

Interpreter services

Shriners Hospitals for Children — Springfield offers interpretive services for you and your child. It is vital to ensure that you have accurate information about your child’s care. We have Spanish interpreters available onsite, contract with an outside interpreter service and utilize a telephonic service for Spanish as well as other languages.

Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC)

PFAC was established to foster successful collaboration among patients, families and staff to further our goal of providing the highest quality care. PFAC is a working partnership that provides a unique opportunity for patients and families to work side-by-side with staff. PFAC strives to identify opportunities for enhancements, brainstorm solutions and implement changes to improve the patient and family experience. Call 413-735-1253 or email for more information.

Outgoing mail can be sent from the telephone operator’s desk in the hospital lobby. Arrangements can be made through the nursing/materials management department for mailing larger packages. Any mail or shipping costs are the responsibility of the parent/patient. Mail received after a patient is discharged will be forwarded to the home address of the patient.


Parking is located in the visitor’s lot on your right after you turn into the hospital entrance. There is an easy drop-off area at the front door of the hospital.

Telephones are available in each patient room. These phones are restricted to incoming calls only. For the comfort of other patients, we request that all calls are made before 8 p.m. An exception may be made for calls outside the United States due to time zone differences. Any charges for calls made by patients/parents are the responsibility of the patient/parent.

Cell phone use is permitted on the inpatient unit.


The security team at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Springfield provides on-site service 24 hours a day. If you have safety concerns or would like a security escort to your vehicle, please call 413-735-1294 and ask for security. Press “0” or visit the security desk in the lobby if you need help while in the hospital building.


There is an ATM located right outside of the hospital’s cafeteria.
