Support services

At Shriners Hospitals for Children — St. Louis, care is delivered in a family-centered model, which means the patient and family are the focus. In addition to high-quality medical care, we have the following support services.

Recreation areas

The recreation areas are located on the hospital’s third floor and include the recreational therapy/child life department, as well as the family gathering area just outside. These areas are equipped with toys, board games, video games and puzzles for a variety of ages and developmental stages. Volunteers and staff from our child life department facilitate daily activities.

Internet access/computer use

WIFI access is available using our PFA network. Your nurse or any hospital staff member can help you if you have trouble finding the network or logging in.

Interpreter services

Shriners Hospitals for Children — St. Louis offers interpretive services for you and your child. It is vital to ensure that you have accurate information about your child’s care. Please contact care management at 314-872-7806 to request interpreter services prior to your appointment.

Outgoing mail can be sent using the mailbox located at the entrance of the hospital. Arrangements can be made through the materials management department for mailing larger packages. All shipping costs are the responsibility of the parent/patient. Mail received after a patient is discharged will be forwarded to the home address of the patient.


Parking is free in our surface lot, with an easy drop-off area at the front door of the hospital. There are also plenty of spots designated for those with disabilities.
