Maureen J. Maciel, M.D., is the chief of staff at Shriners Healthcare for Children — Florida. She earned her medical degree at Mount Sinai Medical School in New York. After completing a residency in orthopaedic surgery from The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Dr. Maciel went on to a fellowship in pediatric orthopaedic surgery at Shriners Healthcare for Children — Florida. Since 2007, Dr. Maciel has been dedicated to treating children at Shriners Healthcare for Children — Florida.
Areas of special interest to Dr. Maciel are limb lengthening and reconstruction, fibrous dysplasia, rickets, Blount's disease, developmental hip dysplasia, clubfoot, cerebral palsy and fractures.
Dr. Maciel is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America, American Medical Association, Association of Children’s Prosthetic-Orthotic Clinics, Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society and Limb Lengthening and Reconstruction Society.
