Local groups help Tampa Shriners Hospital patients become princesses and pirates for a day

Shriners Hospitals for Children — Tampa patients experienced an afternoon of fun at the Princess and Pirate Party this summer, thanks to the ladies of Daughters of the Nile Elim Temple (Chapter) No. 76.

Crafts, crowns, cupcakes and cookies weren't the only things keeping our kids smiling that day. The ladies set up a photo station where each little pirate and princess could pose for a picture. Guests also enjoyed performances from the chapter's Oriental Band, and other special visitors. Costumers With a Cause stopped by with five of their princesses, while Ye Notorious Krewe of the Peg Leg Pirate brought pirates, beads and buried treasure. Thank you to these dedicated partners for helping to surprise our kids, and a great big shout out to all the ladies who made this event so much fun.
