Patient programs

Patient programs

At Shriners Healthcare for Children — Florida, care extends far beyond our walls. The child life department believes that recreation and leisure should be an important part of everyone’s life.  We partner with a number of community organizations to introduce patients to the wide range of recreation possibilities and assist patients in discovering their passions, leading to a life full of fun.

During your visit to the Tampa outpatient facility, you may see therapy dogs, musicians, magicians, area sports teams, clowns or holiday-themed parties. Activities and classes are provided free-of-charge to patients and families. In addition to special events offered throughout the week, we offer other engaging activities.

Clinic activities

Fun activities are often held in the outpatient waiting area. These include arts and crafts, games, music and more. Timmy's Playroom, a fun, interactive play area donated by the Tim Tebow Foundation, is located in the radiology department. The "fish bowl" recreation area, located downstairs, features Foosball and pool tables.
